Repeating their Slippery When Wet process, the band wrote and recorded demos for New Jersey (proposed as a double album) at a small studio, Chalet Music in Manasquan, NJ, before making the move to Little Mountain Sound in Vancouver.

The video for "Bad Medicine" offered the band a chance to connect with fans in a new way. Filmed in Long Beach, CA, before a crowd 5000 strong, the video put cameras in the audience's hands, asking them to film anything and everything. After a mini-show of five songs, official filming began, and the special bond between Bon Jovi and fans was documented like never before.
