The post-New Jersey era was a rollercoaster. With the dust from the road barely settled, the band went on a soul-searching hiatus. Jon, Richie, and David made waves with other projects, longtime manager Doc McGhee was replaced with newly-formed Bon Jovi Management, the Seattle sound was profoundly changing the music industry, and questions swirled around Bon Jovi's future. It would take a few years apart, a bonding trip to St. Thomas, a mediator, and some serious redefining of what the band was and wanted to be in the 90s to get Bon Jovi ready to create its next chapter, Keep the Faith.

Bob Rock moved from engineer into the producer seat for Bon Jovi's fifth studio album Keep the Faith. Jon later explained to NPR: "The genre of music that we were a part of was now going away and here was this sign of faith, which is all we really had to go forward with. We went into the '90s with a clear objective, and that was to believe in each other and in what it was that we were all about."

On October 12, 1992, nearly two and a half years after the New Jersey Syndicate Tour closed shop, Bon Jovi was ready to spread the Faith all around the world. Where better to start this resurrection than Asbury Park’s Fast Lane—the very place where the band first learned their trade? This intimate club show ignited promotional performances in Toronto, New York, Paris, Madrid, and London, before finally landing in Bethlehem, PA. Here, Bon Jovi began again, whipping up a year-long revival of rock and roll for 180 shows in over 30 countries.
